Fans of 50 Shades of Grey lost their cool when Charlie Hunnam bailed on his role as Christian Grey in the film adaptation of E.L. James’ erotic novel. But it looks like there’s a new guy in town, and the new hunk comes jam-packed with a lady-boner-inducing Irish accent!
According to E Online, Irish actor Jamie Dornan is on to take the role of Christian Grey, alongside Dakota Johnson who will play Anastasia Steele. Dornan, who is also a model and a musician, got his shot to acting with the help of ex-girlfriend Keira Knightley. He has modeled for Calvin Klein, Dior, and Armani, among many other brands.
Dornan’s rep has yet to confirm that the 31-year-old will take on the role, but numerous sources claimed that the Irish actor was made for the role.
One of the film producers, Michael De Luca, couldn’t comment on Dornan’s role, but he did note that they’re about to have a Christian in their hands.
Hunnam claimed to have dropped the role as Christian Grey because he had some “family stuff going on”. But his former costar-to-be, Dakota Johnson took an active role in the search for his replacement.
50 Shades of Grey is slated to begin shooting in the beginning of November.
