Here’s a lesson for all of you to learn, never save the mobile phone number of any police or detectives, especially if you’re not close to them –when I say close I mean so close they will take what you’re texting them as a joke and will not actually hunt you down because you are trying to buy some illegal substances from a drug dealer. Recently, a teen typed out a message reading “Hey Dawg, do you have a $20 I can buy right now?” and instead of sending to the intended person, he sent it to a sheriff. The sheriff initially thought it was a joke but when he couldn’t find anyone snickering away outside his house, he decided to play along as though it was legitimate. He got the drug task force involve before pretending to be the dealer and agreed to meet the poor teen.
After calling to confirm that the teen, then seated with another teenager and an adult male, is indeed the person he’s looking for, he invited the teens out and flashed his badge at them. The teenagers immediately turned white and when the group went outside to discuss the issue further, one of them passed even out. Ouch! The drug detective got both of the teens’ parents involved however, no citations were issued. Another lesson here, never text anyone to look for illegal substances especially when you’re already high!
