I’m sure some of you (or your mom) complain when you pay RM12 for a tall Caramel Macchiato or even RM6 for bottled water at some upscale restaurant. I always love mamak stalls because usually the water is free or costs slightly below RM1. The most expensive I have paid for water was about RM10 or so at a concert where mineral bottles were not allowed – so what the heck, no choice.
Sparkling water may appeal to some of you and I’m sure you don’t mind paying a little bit more for Perrier or Evian but will you ever pay USD100 for water? Yeah, the bottle is cute – looks like it is encrusted in diamante with Hello Kitty emblazoned on it and a nice shiny crown as the cover but seriously?
I think you’re paying just for the bottle. The water is probably tap water.
Oh, and before I forget the best part:
“The luxury bottled water comes in five colors which represent different themes: Red (friendship), Pink (cute), yellow (heartful), green (wish) and lavender (sweet). You can buy all five for $500 or individually at $100 a pop”
