Conde Nast, one of the world’s most popular publishing house is moving to Ground Zero – where the World Trade Center stood almost a decade ago before the tragic attacks. The company and all of its publications including Vogue, Lucky and W will move from their 4 Times Square building to the future Freedom Tower at 1 World Trade Center in 2014. At 1,776 feet tall, the Freedom Tower will be the tallest building in New York. Current Conde Nast employees have been notified about the pending decision on August 3, 2010 but the final decision is still months away.
Honestly, I feel that if I were working in Conde Nast, I wouldn’t have the heart to work at a place where thousands have lost their lives. America has moved on but the memories still lie. Other companies have declined to move to that area because of the horrific incidents that happened in 2001. All I can say is, I hope they make the right decision and that all of the employees will be happy.
