I have always wondered what is the difference between cream blush and powder blush; other than the fact they’re of different texture. After using both types, I’ve managed to come up with the following conclusion:
Cream blush This type of blush gives you a more natural look as it allows the glow of your skin to shine through the color, hence creating a dewy and fresh look. It is especially better for those who have dry skin as it moisturizes your skin with its rich ingredients. However, it isn’t very easy to apply cream blush. You need to practice often before you can get it right. The best way to apply cream blush is with your fingers, which also proves to be a tricky process. Cream blush also tend to look more natural; as if you’re flushed after a jog around the block.
Powder blush This is the most common type of blush as it is easy to apply and easily available. Usually powder blush lasts longer than other type of blushes and it is especially more suited for oily skin. Powder blush is normally used to contour and accent your face; usually used to highlight your cheekbones.
So there isn’t really much difference between both. It’s up to you which you think looks better on you. I have both cream and powder blush and I use them for different effects.
