1. William Shatner’s appearance

William Shatner helped Seth MacFarlane kick off the 85th Annual Academy Awards by saying that he was the worst host ever. Dressed as Captain Kirk from Star Trek, William showed Seth headlines from the future which were results of Seth’s tasteless jokes backfiring on him.

2. Barbra Streisand’s heartfelt performance

The most highly anticipated performances of the night was none other than Barbra Streisand, and she delivered with her beautiful rendition of Marvin Hamlisch’s Oscar-winning The Way We Were just moments after the late composer was honoured during the In Memoriam segment.

3. Three hot guys singing on stage

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Daniel Radcliffe and Seth MacFarlane performing the opening number, High Hopes from 1959’s A Hole in the Head.

4. Shirley Bassey’s vocal chords

Shirley Bassey proved that age is just a number by belting out her classic Goldfinger theme. The 76-year-old stunned the audience with her performance during a 50th anniversary tribute to 007.

5. Adele’s performance

British songstress Adele also performed on stage, and she blew everyone away during her performance for Skyfall. Absolutely flawless.

6. The First Lady made an appearance

Michelle Obama’s surprise appearance via satellite from the White House to introduce the nominees for Best Most Picture before crowning Argo as champ.

7. J Law’s fall

Jennifer Lawrence tripped as she walked on stage to collect her Oscar.Being her awesome self, she just brushed it off and made a joke about the incident during her acceptance speech.

8. A musical stint

The whole cast of Les Misérables reunited for a medley of One More Day and Suddenly.

9. Tarantino gets a thank you

Christoph Waltz thanking Quentin Tarantino for writing him yet another Oscar-winning role in his acceptance speech after getting the Best Supporting Actor Award for his portrayal of Dr. King Schultz in Django Unchained.

10. Ben Affleck’s piece of wisdom

Ben Affleck’s advice to make it in Hollywood: “Don’t hold grudges” during his acceptance speech for directing Argo.
