Clever Girl: The M’sian Reality TV Show That Assigns ‘Bimbos’ To Cheat?

Caught on tape! Proof that reality TV shows can be faker than your ex-BFF.

In case you haven’t heard, TV3 has a new reality series titled Clever Girl which features 14 gorgeous ladies from across Malaysia. Although their makeup game might be impressive, the important question here is: how brilliant are these girls?

The program which is hosted by Alif Satar, combines the elements of reality TV and gameshow by evaluating each participant’s general knowledge via its weekly live quizzes. The winner will receive RM100,000 as the Grand Prize.

During the first season, Clever Girl has received a lot of flak over the ‘irrelevant questions’ that they ask contestants such as “Which football team does this player belong to?”. This makes us wonder how/who the heck approved to air the show’s second season?

Meanwhile, the participants are not bad at making a fool of themselves too. For instance, when an image of Mother Teresa was clearly displayed on the big screen, one candidate quickly answered “Mahatma Ghandi”. Lol, for real.

And guess what? To everyone’s surprise, a short video which contains Clever Girl’s careless ‘oops moment’ has surfaced last night and it immediately went viral on social sites. Looks like 43 seconds is all we need to learn about how reality TV works — basic and almost 100% fake.

From the video above, a female host was seen questioning the contenders about Usman Awang and his notable works. However, as soon as she finished revealing what Answer A was, medic student from Newcastle University Johor Syazana Kamarzaman suddenly pressed the buzzer and answered “B”.

Stunned, host Alif Satar then requested her to repeat what “B” was (which he hadn’t even unveiled yet) but Syazana struggled to answer the question and proceeded to grace viewers with a smile instead.

The episode which was streamed LIVE on Facebook, was promptly killed after the whole messy ordeal. At the same time, 24-year-old Shazana has also deleted all of her social media accounts.

Huh.. karma, is that you? Apparently two weeks ago, a contender from Oxford University, Kiera has pulled out of the show due to unforeseen circumstances. In a long Instagram rant, she condemned Clever Girl’s producers for not running a “clean and fair” game.

The post has since been deleted and Kiera was forced to apologise to viewers for ‘ruining’ Clever Girl and TV3’s integrity.

While we’re not entirely sure what went wrong, we do know that most reality TV shows are rigged anyway. Do you think the Kardashians got that perfect shot in just one take? Hmm..
