Fringes – you either love them or hate them. Although fringes or bangs might not look good on certain type of face shapes, for some of us, they are eternally cool, and a relatively quick way to update one’s look.
This year, we have a hunch that it’s going to be all about the micro-fringe, otherwise known as the baby-fringe, baby bangs, or “Bettie bangs”, after pin-up icon Bettie Page.
The micro-fringe is due for a moment in the fashion sun, being spotted on the runways for urban luxe brands like Alexander Wang and Christopher Kane, who are known for their cool spins on street-wise style. A micro-fringe isn’t for the faint hearted, but the best trends never are, are they?!
Let’s put it this way: Micro bangs are like the “ugly” shoe of the hair world. They’re a bit wrong, but that is part of their appeal. They’re like pairing your white fashion sneakers with a fancy dress. It’s not perfect and you know it is a bit off, but that is part of what makes it so interesting.
Just take a look at these celebs rocking the iconic baby bangs.
Yay or Nay?
